26th Ladja Marathon Champions
For the second time in a row, the Zagreb Boatman Association, with our employee Lucijano Kežić on the crew (holding the winner’s shield in the photo), became the 26th Ladja (Boat) Marathon champions.
Next year they have an opportunity to win the Marathon for the 3rd time in a row, and to earn the right to keep the winner's shield in their permanent possession, and thus go down in history as the 3rd team that ever succeeded that (after the Komin and Rogotin crews).
More than 400 rowers take part in the Ladja Marathon, which takes place every year on the second Saturday in August and is broadcasted live by the Croatian national television. It has been declared one of the largest and most watched rowing competitions in Europe due to the demanding 22.5-kilometer section.
