DESCRIPTION:
The Adriatic Sea River Basin District in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina encompasses the Cetina, Krka, Neretva and Trebišnjica river basins. Total area under consideration is about 8,782 km², whereof:
the Neretva and Trebišnjica river basin area is 6,041.6 km²,
the Cetina River basin area is 2,655.6 km²,
the Krka River basin area is 84.8 km².The length of the rivers in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is: the Neretva River 208 km, the Trebižat River 48 km, and the Trebišnjica River 25 km. A total of about 414,000 inhabitants live in Adriatic Sea River Basin District in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the preparation of the Water Management Plan, the characterization of surface waters, groundwaters and coastal waters, analysis of pressure and impacts on surface and groundwaters was carried out, a monitoring program was rendered, economic analyses of water use were carried out, and a GIS database and a register of protected areas were created in accordance with the Water Act. Water protection goals, public participation and consultations were defined. Based on all of the above, the draft Water Management Plan was created. Elektroprojekt managed the complete project for the entire Adriatic Sea River Basin District in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
